Our engineers and operators are all trained and experienced in the safe practices for these methods. Our projects are designed and reviewed according to our Quality Control , Safety and Environmental Policies. The environmental review checks that the correct pump and power supply are being used for the right purpose. Power usage is measured and compared to Power Requirements to calculate efficiency. Adjustments such changes in pump selection or operating conditions are then applied and monitored providing the most efficient system while maintaining reliable and robust groundwater control. Designs often also include the changing of pumps from high flow and low head pumps to low flow high head pumps which better suit the changing performance of the wells near completion of their targets and therefore uses pumps as close to their optimum operating position as possible. Well point drilling, installation and commissioning We use and hire out our own drilling machines and well as manufacturing the hydraulic drill attachment to fit excavators and JCB’s. We also manufacture jetting pump Deepwell drilling, installation and commissioning We provide various drilling machines to suit most ground conditions, these methods include augering, reverse cycle drilling, cable-percussion drilling. Recharge systems When settlement of surrounding ground and buildings must be avoided, we can design and install a suitable recharge system. Systems are designed to maintain natural water levels while dewatering is carried out near by. Normal methods include recharge wells and recharge trenches with particular attention to control of flows and monitoring of groundwater through piezometers. Pump and plant hire Our fleet of pumps, generators and other equipment are available for short term and long term hire. For experienced contractors, the equipment can be hired as per the project requirements. Otherwise sub contract hire basis is recommended. Pump and plant sales For experienced contractors wanting to carry out their own dewatering or pumping works, our full range of pumps and equipment are available for sale 24 hour service, 7 days a week The nature of dewatering is normally 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, so consequently we have people monitoring and servicing sites 24 hours a day as well as after hours call out crews. Silenced pumping systems Diesel engine powered pumps can be fitted inside sound reduction enclosures similar to those used as standard on generators. These enclosures reduce the noise to less than 90 dB (check) normal operating noise. 24 hour electronic monitoring and datalogging of water levels and flows Water levels in piezometers and wells and flow rates can be monitored by electronic equipment and to provide near real-time information which can be set to call out and alarm equipment. This also provides accurate information of the dewatering system performance that can be provided graphically on the internet and by email. Automatic change over backup systems Power supplies to electrical systems are set up with back up power supplies as standard. The back up supply is connected into the system via a change over switch. This switch can be manual or automatic depending on the project requirements. The automatic change over is activated the moment power is lost from the mains supply or duty generator and the standby generator is automatically started and connected to the system. Alarm systems and automated call out When a fault occurs to a dewatering system, such as a pump tripping or damage to the power cable, a circuit relay is activated in the pump control panel which in turn activates an alarm to alert the site operator of the fault. Furthermore, our electronic monitoring systems will also activate an alarm if a water level rises above a trigger level or a flow decreases below a set trigger flowrate. This system can be connected to sirens and flashing lights on site as well as an automated text messaging service to inform the operator and responsible people that action is required. Pumping Test Investigations Our engineers can carry out investigations to determine groundwater pumping characteristics of a site prior to design of an efficient dewatering system. The investigation shall be carried out by pumping tests, falling and rising head tests and packer testing. Tests are designed according the construction design and end purpose of the site and to optimise the construction design. Consultancy for dewatering designs and reviews of designs using computer modelling Our engineers can provide consultancy services including designs of dewatering and pumping systems, and review and reporting on existing dewatering systems with respect to efficiency, environmental impact and best practise. Self priming pump and accessory manufacture Our associates W&P Engineering provide us with in house manufactured self priming pumps of a wide range of sizes and performances to cover most applications. All accessories are also manufacted in house which allows us to modify items to suit specific requirements. Multistaged high head electric submersible borehole pump manufacture Our range of multistage submersible borehole pumps allow us to provide and install the optimum selected pumps to give reliable performance at the lowest possible energy consumption to minimise the environmental impact of the works. Using the wrong pump can lead to excessive energy losses of more than 100%. That is why special consideration is given to our pump selection process and the range of pumps we have available. Power Generation We manufacture generators and bunded fuel tanks suitable for the international construction and mining industries. Gensets range from 20kVA to 500kVA and are available for sale and hire. Our engineers can design and recommend suitable power generation units to suit the clients needs with optional extras such as automatic starting, alarm systems and performance monitoring.
