Oral and maxillofacial surgery is the surgical specialty concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the mouth, jaws, face and neck. It includes the diagnosis and management of facial injuries, head and neck cancers, salivary gland diseases, facial disproportion, facial pain, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, impacted teeth, and cysts and tumors of the jaws, as well as numerous problems affecting the oral mucosa such as mouth ulcers and infections. What we offer the maxillofacial team at Al Abeer have improved the lives of many suffering from severely disfiguring and damaging diseases. Having diseases which affect these parts of your body - ones so obvious to others - can be physically and emotionally damaging. Al Abeer has a dedicated multi-disciplinary team to ensure our patients receive the best care possible in this area. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons frequently work alongside other specialists including orthodontists, oncologists, neurosurgeons, plastic surgeons, and ENT surgeons, to achieve the maximum health benefit for our patients. Maxillofacial surgery is a specialized department, with dedicated clinical and operating space. The department holds daily consultations/treatment clinics, and there are joint clinics with orthodontics every month. A wide range of services are offered within the outpatient clinic, including minor surgical procedures, appliances and numerous investigations. We also have the facility of dedicated acute beds in our centers that need to be admitted. The department provides a service for both adults and children. Referral process when patients are referred, the appointment will be made for an initial consultation. Radiographs and other investigations maybe requested at this stage. If a treatment appointment is required, this will be discussed and agreed at your initial appointment.
