Code of Conduct
COACHES AND TEACHER’ S CONDUCT Make sure all lessons/ training sessions are well planned and focused on achieving the set goals for progressing into the next level. Always be at poolside in a good time before lessons. Preferably 10-15mins before class start. Provide a positive role model for all swimmers. Treat all swimmers fairly within the context of their sporting activities Promote the positive parts of the sport. Discipline any swimmers whose behavior is not acceptable in an appropriate and fair manner Share your knowledge with others as the need arises Use designated Club clothing and swimwear Conduct yourself in a considerate manner relating to language and temper. Language in a public place or relevant group situation must always be appropriate and socially acceptable. SWIMMERS Code of Conduct and Responsibilities: Be punctual for training sessions. Arrive in plenty of time for a gentle 5minute stretching and flexibility routine on poolside before starting swimming. Co-operate with the guidance and instructions from the teachers and coaches. If you have an individual question, discuss it with your teacher/ coach without interrupting the session for other swimmers. Do Not go onto the poolside unless a designated Club official is present Swimmers must be on their best behavior in changing rooms ( before and after swimming) and respect others as well as facilities. Ensure you use the toilet before the sessions starts. Conduct yourself in a considerate manner relating to language and temper. Language in a public place ore relevant group situation must always be appropriate and socially acceptable. Swimmers are allocated to training lanes by coaches – accept their decisions and train accordingly Remember to allow other swimmers behind you to turn and finish correctly and safely, move out of the way of their finish. PARENT’S Code of Conduct and Responsibilities Provide a model of good sports behavior for your swimmers Allow your swimmers to enjoy their sport in a friendly, safe and respectful environment Support your swimmers by helping them to arrive on time for training Support your simmers involvement and help them enjoy swimming Be friendly to all new swimmer and their parents, encouraging them with their involvement in the club If and when possible, support the club by taking your turn at time keeping and other club activities Be patient with progress – understand that the journey to the top can be along one!! Please pay swim fees, meet entries and all other payments at the required time. Parents are welcome and encouraged to stay for the duration of training. However, to minimize poolside noise an distraction, parents are asked not to stay on poolside once swimmers are attired and training has begun. Parents are reminded during training sessions the Coach/ Teacher must concentrate on the swimmer. If parents have questions for the Coach/ Teacher about their individual swimmers, they can arrange a mutually convenient time to speak outside of training times.
