Company Formation Services
The regulations relating to the structure and governance of companies are governed by the Commercial Companies Law, Law No. (5) of 2002.
Foreign investors generally operate in Qatar by adopting one of the following structures:
Establish a wholly owned branch of a foreign company by obtaining a Ministerial Decree to carry out a project which facilitates economic development or the performance of a public service. This type of company formation is very complex and approval is normally granted for companies involved in exploration and management of natural resources, large contractors involved in projects such as New Doha International Project, Lusail Project, oil and gas projects and governmental projects.
Establish a limited liability company with a Qatari partner to engage in commerce, industry, agriculture and services, provided the foreign investor's share in the capital does not exceed 49% and the company is incorporated in accordance with the Commercial Company Law.
